To create, manage and maintain the IT asset lifecycle using industry standard best practice methods, ensuring all assets are accounted for and managed effectively from procurement through to retirement and disposal.

Responsibilities:

  • Design the ITAM strategy to include Hardware, Software and Telecoms, for the remainder of the contract taking into consideration maturity levels and decommission.  
  • Create, implement, manage and maintain the end to end ITAM methodology, ensuring the correct process and workflows are in place to effectively manage all IT assets through their life-cycle.
  • Ensure that the acquisition, storage distribution movement and disposal of assets is carried out and tracked across the associated contract, reporting to CAB where appropriate.
  • Effective communication of our ITAM goals to the key stakeholders in our organisation.
  • Continually raise the profile of ITAM across the associated IT teams, Supply Chain and 3rd Parties ensuring relevant knowledge is transferred and training resources are in place.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider IT team, the business, and external providers to provide ITAM services for the associated contract.
  • Create, manage and maintain relevant IT security processes ensuring compliance with frameworks such as ISO, ITAM and ITIL.
  • Assist in the design of appropriate workflow logic to help ensure orchestration is utilised within the ITSM toolset.
  • Manage Risk, acting to highlight and resolve potential instances of unauthorised assets such as unlicensed copies of software or adherence to security policies.
  • Produce and analyse accurate registers within tolerance +-10% and histories of authorised assets (including secure master copies of software, documentation, data, licences and agreements)
  • Implement robust asset and approval workflows for services provided by 3rd Parties.
  • Own, manage and drive an ITAM SIP, which will include building and maintaining reports to track asset process performance and availability; identifying trends and driving improvements.

Experience:

An experienced ITAM with a solid understanding of service management best practice, industry standard frameworks, and a practical approach to adopting and adapting processes to suit the needs of the business.

  • Understanding of software licensing, expenditure and purchase/license agreements, working to optimise value derived from assets.
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders.
  • A solid understanding of ITAM best practice including SAM, HAM, SEAM, PINAM.
  • Experience in documenting/revising processes & procedures.
  • ITIL Configuration Management related certifications is desirable.
  • Previous experience using SolarWinds Tooling or similar ITSM toolsets.

Personal Attributes:

  • Familiar with Project management approaches, tools and project lifecycle phases.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • An analytical approach with experience in producing and analysing metrics and reports.

Qualifications: 

  • Degree level education, or similar.
  • ITIL v3 Foundation
