Team Leaders will hold the local operational and performance management responsibility, and line manage all front-line delivery roles.

Leading & Manage the Service

  • Act as Senior Practitioner – delivering casework / interventions to provide resilience and flexibility
  • Support successful delivery of ETE to Service Users.
  • Deliver exceptional operational performance to achieve contractual KPIs.
  • Monitor and manage day to day quality of provision.
  • Line manage ETE Advisors
  • Lead, coach, develop and motivate high quality ETE Advisors.
  • Manage ETE Advisor performance to exceed their targets through regular performance reviews
  • Increase employee engagement.
  • Plan and forecast the resource requirement and ensure effective and timely recruitment.
  • Operational liaison with NPS Responsible Officers
  • Identify opportunities for standardisation and integration and identify, utilise and share best practise.
  • Monitor ways of working and management information and identify ways to continuously improve.
  • Maintain operational liaison with local Responsible Officers to manage casework requirements
  • When caseload demands proactively manage a caseload of Service Users in line with the information contained within the referral provided by the Responsible Officer.
  • Support and move Service Users towards education, training and employment in line with the Service delivery model
  • Conduct a diagnostics assessment with all referred Service Users to assess the appropriate level of support required for their journey towards education, training and/or employment.
  • Prepare and agree individual action plans.
  • Provide intensive support to all Service Users on a one-to-one basis and in group settings dependent on the needs identified by the diagnostic assessment.
  1. Motivate and engage Service Users to maximise take-up of education, training and skills opportunities and to find and sustain suitable employment
  2. Deliver the suite of ETE workshops to groups of Service Users
  3. Support CV writing, cover letters and job applications to a high-quality standard
  4. Conduct local job searches via newspapers, internet, contacting employers and cold calling
  5. Coach and prepare Service Users for job interviews and assessments
  6. Provide in work support to Service Users where required
  7. Make appropriate referrals to Functional skills provision
  • Refer Service Users to external ETE specialists as required and liaise with those specialists in order to monitor progress made.
  • Motivate and promote a Service User’s belief in their ability to change.
  • Work with Service Users of varying complexity of need and across each Complexity Level (as applicable)


  • Management experience in employability industry.
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system and legislation in relation to the Rehabilitation of offenders Act.
