The Employment Psychologist will manage a caseload of participants that require low level interventions to support their mental wellbeing such as cognitive behavioural therapy, lifestyle, health specific, and psycho-educational workshops in addition to upskilling and supporting Employment Advisors in how to support their participants in these areas.

The EP will provide skilled Biopsychosocial assessments and deliver evidence-based health and employment focussed interventions to participants on the programme, utilising their specialist skills, knowledge, and experience to provide participants with advice, guidance and support tailored to the participants’ individual needs with the core aim of supporting participants to manage their health on the journey towards work, and whilst in a work environment.

The main office location for this role will be in the West London area, however frequent travel across the London region is required. 

As the Employment Psychologist, you will:

  • Empowering participants to change their lifestyle behaviors and promoting independent management of their general physical, psychological, and social wellbeing to move into sustainable employment.
  • Conducting bio-psychosocial assessments with participants and providing face to face, digital and telephone-based interventions to participants.
  • Offering advice and guidance to participants about their health conditions and empowering individuals to manage their health more independently and effectively.
  • Providing return to work guidance and offer in-work support as required, liaising with employers when appropriate to do so.
  • Producing tailored health action plans for each participant referred, focusing on improving their health and moving them closer to work.
  • Scheduling and delivering health and personal support related group activities (such as Exercise and Physical Activity, Healthy Eating, Good Sleep Guide).
  • Ensuring that all participant related activities are recorded accurately and appropriately on our systems in a timely manner, as per KPIs and professional standards.
  • Meet all performance KPI’s, seeking feedback and implementing changes where appropriate to continuously improve.

As our Employment Psychologist, you will have:

  • To be registered as a health professional with one or more of the following regulatory bodies as below:
    • Psychologist registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
    • Occupational Therapist registered with the HCPC.
    • A counsellor who is registered as an Accredited practitioner with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or with UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)
    • An accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist registered with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
    • Mental Health Nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
    • Social Worker with adult mental health experience registered with Social Work England
  • Demonstrate a passion and an interest in empowering participants to effectively manage their mental health conditions to enable them to move into sustainable employment.
  • Working knowledge of the biopsychosocial model of healthcare.
  • Evidence of applying the principles of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and/or, Motivational Interviewing and/or Brief Solution Focused Therapy approaches to a participant base.
