Employment Specialist - Debt

Do you Enjoy Helping people? Have you got Experience working with Debt? Are you looking for a role that offers support to others?

If so, we have a fantastic opportunity here at Ingeus as an Employment Advisor specialising in money management, where the role is to offer advice, advocacy, and direct intervention to participants on the RESTART programme who are in challenging personal circumstances and are also experiencing problems relating to debt and budgeting.

The Advisor will provide participants on Restart with informed support, appropriate information, and specialist advice to alleviate the additional stress generated by their financial circumstances and subsequently, allowing them to focus on getting back into Employment.

As the Debt Employment Advisor, you will:

  • Provide confidential advice and support to participants referred to them
  • Support with money management and income maximisation. 
  • Help Support and improve their financial situation
  • Liaison with third parties on behalf of a participant, when appropriate.
  • Provide money advice group sessions, including opening a bank or post office account,
  • Help with budgeting, understanding credit options  
  • Support with setting up payment plans with utilities providers and submitting applications to utilities trust funds on behalf of the participant. 
  • Organising informative workshops and briefings for participants  
  • Keep up to date with legislation, policies and procedures relating to casework
  • Attend relevant subject based training, briefings and networking events with the Institute of Money Advisers and other bodies 

Required Experience

  • Experience of working in a fast paced, evolving environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience of working in a performance target driven environment, such as business to business sales or equivalent.
  • An adept communicator with the ability to persuade, influence and listen to others.
  • Able to effectively network to build and maintain effective relationships internally and externally.
  • Recent experience of providing debt advice
  • You must have a working knowledge of Microsoft tools e.g., Word and Excel.
