HR People Partner (Remote, with some travel required)

Salary: £35,150 per annum (pro rata)

This position is available on a 12 month fixed term contract


Working in a fast-paced, evolving environment the HR People Partner will work in partnership with designated business areas to provide a professional HR service with timely advice, guidance and support to managers and employees in a range of issues which will include the development and coaching of leaders on people related matters, supporting leaders during ER investigations and hearings and supporting on a range of organisational change projects.

The HR People Partner will work collaboratively with the People team in identifying improvements to systems and processes that will enhance the delivery of the People and Culture service we provide to the business and ensuring a consistent approach in the application of HR policies and procedures, demonstrating a high level of commitment, flexibility and enthusiasm to their role, the People and Culture team and the business

Project Support

  • Support in activities and projects related to the People plan, covering areas such as Diversity and Inclusion, Employee Engagement, Health and Wellbeing and Reward and Recognition
  • Coordinate and provide administrative support for Organisational change activity, which includes any required stakeholder and employee consultations, along with preparing required documentation and working with the HR Shared Services team to process changes
  • Provide support to contract mobilisation activity, supporting in the creation of job descriptions, assessment documentation and partnering with managers to conduct interviews as required

Employee Relations & Continuous Improvement

  • Business unit and First Line manager advisory support and employee liaison
  • To coach and develop managers in relation to all people related matters
  • Provide advice to Managers within a wide range of diverse and complex HR issues including disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence management to ensure processes and policies are applied consistency and in line with our policies
  • Work with the Senior People Partner on complex ER cases
  • Keep up to date on employment law issues and legislation changes and working with the ER Lead to identify any impact on organisational policies and procedures
  • Maximise opportunities for continuous development, supporting the HR team in embedding the performance management framework and liaising with L&D colleagues where appropriate to direct employees to appropriate training opportunities
  • Work with the ER Lead, wider People & Culture Team and L&D colleagues to upskill managers in all areas of HR, coaching and providing training to managers

Workforce Planning and Retention

  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team as required to support in our workforce planning strategy, ensuing that we are able to attract talent in a timely manner
  • Assist with development of job descriptions for newly created positions and updating existing positions

Systems and Processes

  • Ensure accurate employee records are maintained in order to meet both statutory and company requirements and provide data as and when requested
  • Conduct regular evaluation of internal HR processes and make recommendations to improve these as appropriate to ensure that they continue to be both effective and efficient

Management Reporting

  • Work with HR Systems and Data Insight Specialist for the provision of and maintenance of any key statistical and management information on key HR metrics such as staff turnover, sickness and absence, probations and report on any key concerns or patterns emerging
  • Analyse data obtained from employee welcome and exit surveys, providing insight and recommendations on how we can improve the employee experience
  • Provide Adhoc reports as required

General HR Administration

  • Work closely with the HR Shared Services team to ensure that all HR processes are working effectively, and administration is completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Liaise with the HR shared services team and the payroll team to address employee queries and ensuring that these are resolved in a timely manner
  • Support with the completion of DBS Risk Assessments and audit requirements
