Do something amazing with your summer…

National Citizen Service (NCS) is a government-funded programme that brings together young people aged 15-17 year olds. The programme is about building Young People’s confidence and giving them practical soft skills to better equip them for the future.

At Ingeus, we currently have several opportunities for seasonal staff to join our workforce in delivering our fantastic programme across 7 areas in the Southeast and East Midlands.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable team players with excellent communication skills who can deliver activities and engage young people. You also need to be able to work under pressure and be capable of managing multiple tasks at the same time.

We are offering opportunities in fast paced roles where no day is the same as the next. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Ensuring young people are engaging in activities and managing YP behaviour
  • Responsible for the health, safety, wellbeing, and curriculum engagement of young people
  • Offering pastoral support
  • Leading Guided Reflection
  • Completing key admin tasks
  • Following Safeguarding, incident, information governance, health and safety and risk assessment protocols
  • Ensuring activities are inclusive and accessible for all participants
  • Engaging with community partners
  • Working as part of a team to achieve programme objectives, ensuring high standards of service are delivered

Whilst the points noted above form the core of our roles, we require all employees to be flexible and supportive of the programme needs as they evolve and continue to provide the best possible service.

Each programme is 2 weeks long with the first week being a full time residential at an adventurous activity venue. The second week will be a minimum of 30 hours in the community of the young people where you will support them to utilise new skills and make a difference to their local community. To do this you will be demonstrating how to network and build strong community relationships.

Due to the nature of the roles, an enhanced DBS will be required as part of the process.

At Ingeus, we value diversity and inclusion and actively encourage applications from everyone, including those that are underrepresented in our workforce. We promote equality of opportunity in all aspects of employment, including a positive working environment. We are a Disability Confident Leader, a Mindful Employer, a Stonewall Champion, and we’re committed to the Armed Forces Covenant.

  • In possession of demonstrable lateral thinking skills
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and flexible team player with high expectations of self and others.
