Occupational Therapist - Birmingham
APM Ingeus have an exclusive contract with the Department for Work and Pensions to recruit Healthcare Professionals to work in their Health Transformation Programme.
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Occupational Therapist to support a newly emerging OT led vocational rehabilitation service based in the Birmingham Handsworth Jobcentre.
You’ll be responsible for managing your own caseload of referrals to support customers in overcoming barriers they face in work, through the use of therapeutic strategies.
Using standardised Occupational Therapy and Health tools you will empower individuals with health conditions and disabilities to engage in meaningful activities, adopt strategies and behaviours to overcome negative thoughts and enhance their physical, emotional and social wellbeing moving them closer to recommencing work.
Your role will have a huge impact in helping people live fulfilling lives with the aim that the proactive support will reduce long term unemployment and inactivity.

To be considered for this role you must be fully registered with the HCPC, have one year post registration experience and have the right to work in the UK (we cannot provide sponsorship for this role). In addition, you will require excellent knowledge of physical, cognitive, sensory and mental health conditions and their impact on function, be able to work in the Handsworth Jobcentre, and the confidence to work one on one with customers whilst also running group sessions.
In return you will receive the security of a long-term contract (minimum 12 months, likely to extend for a further 3 years), an equivalent salary of £47K, the autonomy to implement your own ideas and plans, and the opportunity to make a real difference to people’s quality of life.
