Business Support Officer
Salary: £24,806 Pro Rata + Benefits
Contract: Full time/Permanent
Location: Home Based with travel to Reading as required.

Rebuilding your life after prison is one of the toughest challenges a person can face. But with the right support, it’s possible. At Ingeus, our Justice division is dedicated to transforming lives and creating safer communities. We work alongside individuals on probation and those leaving prison to empower change, provide opportunities, and support rehabilitation.

We’re looking for a Business Support Officer to join the team—someone organised, proactive, and detail-focused, with the ability to balance admin tasks and relationship building.

About the Role:

As a Business Support Officer, you’ll provide essential administrative support to the team, helping us deliver high-quality services to participants. You’ll process referrals, schedule assessments, manage case records, and ensure our systems and procedures run smoothly. You’ll also support the development of our Knowledge Base and service directory, helping colleagues and partners access the information they need to support Service Users effectively.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Processing referrals and chasing missing information
  • Scheduling initial appointments for advisors either face to face or via videolink from custody.
  • Making and receiving calls with Service Users and external organisations.
  • Maintaining accurate records, systems, and compliance checks.
  • Building strong relationships with colleagues, Service Users, and external partners.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in phone based customer service or administrative support.
  • Excellent organisational and IT skills, including CRM systems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust.
  • An awareness of safeguarding process
  • Adaptability, openness to learning, and a team-focused approach.
  • The ability to remain calm and professional during challenging calls.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and inclusive practice.

We welcome applications from everyone and particularly encourage those with lived experience, those who are neurodiverse or veterans. If you meet the essential criteria, we guarantee you will be offered an interview.

What We Offer:

At Ingeus, we listen to our employees and have developed a benefits package that supports both your personal and professional well-being:

  • 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to trade for additional leave.
  • EAP Support programme available 24/7, including 6 free counselling sessions.
  • Private medical insurance and life assurance.
  • Up to 2 days of Community Giving (volunteering) each year to support a cause that matters to you.
  • Eyecare vouchers to help with glasses or eye care.
  • Exclusive discounts via Perks at Work.
  • Cycle to Work scheme and travel season ticket loan.
  • Long service awards to celebrate your commitment.
  • Salary Finance offering financial education and advice.
  • The opportunity to purchase extra benefits like critical illness cover and dental insurance.

Whilst we welcome applications from those with lived experience, this role requires an enhanced Level 1 Vetting and enhanced DBS check.  As we wait for the necessary background checks to be completed, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to shadow your colleagues and ask questions.

About Ingeus:

At Ingeus, we pride ourselves on fostering an inclusive culture where everyone is treated with dignity, valued for their contributions, and encouraged to grow. We are committed to supporting neurodiverse candidates and offer a clear and accessible application, screening, and interview process. Please contact me via email at jkumar@ingeus.co.uk in you require further details.

This role will close on the 15th October and applications will be reviewed after this date.
