Team Manager – Careers, Information, Advice and Guidance (CIAG)

Are you a strategic, people-focused leader with a passion for performance, quality and partnership working? We are seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead the delivery of our In-custody Careers, Information, Advice and Guidance (CIAG) contract across the region. This is a pivotal role with responsibility for operational performance, team leadership and stakeholder engagement, ensuring high-quality outcomes for people in custody while representing Ingeus with commissioners and prison partners.

Leadership & Performance

  • Lead, manage and inspire CIAG Advisors and Peer Mentors to deliver high-quality services and exceed contractual KPIs.
  • Hold local operational and performance management responsibility for all front-line delivery roles.
  • Coach, develop and motivate staff through regular supervision, performance reviews and development planning.
  • Plan, forecast and manage resources to meet changing operational requirements, including timely recruitment.
  • Act as Senior Practitioner when required, delivering casework and interventions to provide resilience and flexibility.
  • Champion the value of lived experience, ensuring services are inclusive, supportive and empowering.
  • Motivate and promote service users’ belief in their ability to change and progress.

Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure delivery meets CIAG quality standards, including Matrix, Ofsted and HMIP requirements.
  • Lead on compliance, audit, reporting and quality assurance across the service.
  • Maintain full compliance with Ingeus policies, procedures and contractual obligations.

Partnership Working & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the key local representative for Ingeus with commissioners and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Governor, Head of Education, Skills & Work, and wider prison teams.
  • Develop and deliver the local partnerships strategy in line with regional and national objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with MOJ staff and prison stakeholders to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for service integration, innovation and best practice sharing across the region.

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • Proven experience of managing teams in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Strong knowledge of the Justice sector, particularly custodial settings.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • A strong commitment to social value and improving outcomes for local communities.
  • Flexibility to travel across the region, as this role covers multiple locations.

Whilst we welcome applications from those with lived experience, this role requires an enhanced DBS check and HMPPS EL1 vetting. As we wait for the necessary background checks to be completed, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to shadow your colleagues, ask questions, and learn the ropes.

Our Justice division is dedicated to transforming lives and creating safer communities. Our mission is to reduce reoffending, build stronger communities, and help people realise their potential.

At Ingeus, we’ve spent time listening to our employees to build our benefits package;

  • 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to trade for additional leave.
  • EAP Support programme available 24/7, including 6 free counselling sessions.
  • Private medical insurance and life assurance.
  • Up to 2 days of Community Giving (volunteering) each year to support a cause that matters to you.
  • Eyecare vouchers to help with glasses or eye care.
  • Online Shopping discounts
  • Cycle to Work scheme and travel season ticket loan.
  • Long service awards to celebrate your commitment.
  • Salary Finance offering financial education and advice.
  • The opportunity to purchase extra benefits like critical illness cover and dental insurance.

We understand that everyone’s journey is different, and we’re committed to making our recruitment process as inclusive and accessible as possible. If you require any support or adjustments—whether that’s help with the application, interview format, or anything else—we’re here to listen and work with you to find the best approach.

Our goal is to ensure you can showcase your skills and potential in a way that works for you. Please don’t hesitate to contact us at careers@ingeus.co.uk to discuss how we can support you

If you think you have what it takes, don't delay and apply today - If we receive enough applications, this role may close early.
