Rebuilding your life after prison is one of the toughest challenges a person can face. But with the right support, it’s possible. That's where you come in.

We're looking for a Recovery Navigator -someone with a rare mix of compassion, resilience, organisation and flexibility. Someone who understands that rehabilitation isn't just about offering advice; it’s about rolling up your sleeves and pro-actively supporting someone on their journey.

You'll be working in a challenging environment with people who have complex needs and who can be reluctant to engage. But when you help someone break the cycle of addiction and take real steps toward transforming their life, it’s a great feeling.

About the Role:

You’ll support individuals as they transition from prison back into the community, helping them address and manage their drug and alcohol addictions. Through 1-to-1 support and group sessions you will guide individuals on their recovery journey.

You'll work across custody settings, Ingeus community venues, and probation offices, delivering tailored support and intervention plans. Through mentoring and motivation, you’ll guide individuals in their recovery and help them access vital services, specialist support, and community networks whilst building and maintaining relationships with external partners to generate referrals.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Action Planning: You will formulate detailed action plans that shape the support they receive
  • Caseload management: You'll manage multiple individuals, balancing their needs while keeping up with all the related admin.
  • Advocacy and signposting: You will be supporting participants to engage with key services.
  • Quality Recording: Keep thorough, up-to-date records of all your work on multiple IT system, ensuring progress is properly tracked and compliance is met
  • 121 and Group Delivery: Setting up and delivering engaging sessions in small groups.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Relationship Building: You’ll be able to connect with participants, probation services and external stakeholders in a way that's genuine, promotes a sense of trust and is non-judgemental.
  • Safeguarding awareness: You are supporting complex individuals at a challenging time in their lives and will need to be able to identify any safeguarding risks. You will be fully supported following any challenging interventions.
  • IT and Administrative skills: Keeping meticulous records of every interaction to measure client progress and ensure effective interventions.
  • Resilience: This role can be challenging, and results may take time, but you are the kind of person who sees things through.

Whilst we welcome applications from those with lived experience, this role requires an enhanced DBS check and HMPPS EL1 vetting. Due to the time required to complete these checks, successful candidates will be offered a start date at least 6 weeks from the point of job offer. This should allow sufficient time for all necessary pre-employment clearances to be obtained
